West Indies Federation (1958–1962)

Federation of the West Indies

Britain's attempt to bundle ten Caribbean colonies into one nation lasted four years. Jamaica voted to leave in 1961, Trinidad followed, and the federation dissolved before most of its members had even reached independence.

The federation died in 1962, but its cricket team never did — the West Indies still take the field as one nation to this day.
